Knowing WG too well, I would bet all of my potatoes and bread that their intentions are not to diversify equipment loadout but rather took the chance of forcing players to pay gold to "decrease" wait times on anything that requires changes to tanks like: repair, ammo resupply, mounting module, equipment delivery and possibly we have to wait for an eternity while WG ships us our tanks we ordered with a chance of the ship destroyed by U-boats.

Clash of Clans anyone?

ugh.. Clash of clans was a blast at the lower levels.. but became virtually unplayable up in the higher tiers. The wait times were.. weeks long.

WEEKS!

ditched the game in disgust.. hope this doesnt happen here.

It's doing what nearly all mobile games have done: making it a cash farm because more people play mobile games than ever. Bigger market = bigger profit. I don't see anything wrong with trying to make money...but this constant cash-begging and micro-transacting is not cool.

My Top Tanks: Lowe (#880), Type 61 (#834), Helsing H0 (#797), Pz. S35 739 (#778), ARL 44 (#661), T7 Car (#654), STB-1 (#502), MT-25 (#442), Excelsior (ironically(#422), M22 Locust (#322), T23E3 (#223), Pz. 38 (t) nA (#211), Alecto (#197), Pz 35 (t) (#168),

T-25 (#166), Stridsvagn 74A2 (#151), Angry Connor (#63!), T-15 (#50!), Pz. 38 (t) (#31!)

In My Garage: T-25, Tetrarch, Pz 38 (t), Pz 35 (t),  SU-122-44, Helsing H0, Kuro Mori Mine, Pz IV Anko SP, E 50 M, T7 Car, T2 Light, Locust, T-15, Stridsvagn 74A2, T23E3, Angry Connor, Lowe, Leopard 1, 112, STB-1, AMX M4 45, Type 61, WT Auf Pz IV, T28 Proto

Lines I am currently grinding: T110E4 (Currently at T28 Proto), AMX 50B (Currently at AMX M4 45)

Does Clash of Clans actually do something like this? Destroy your shipments by RNG? I'm glad I don't play that [edited]either way. Too bad Blitz is turning into Clash of Clans.

Actually I think they're moving towards milking a small segment of the market. In other games, most revenue comes from a pretty small fraction of their players. Companies call them Whales. Developers have found that you make more money by milking a small number of Whales than by making pricing affordable to a larger player base, so the in-game economy is designed accordingly which is why costs at the high end are so epic.

A big reason why I abandoned many other games but love Blitz is because it didn't have this emphasis. You could compete at the highest level while spending little to no cash. It's a very egalitarian game on that basis, what matters is skill. But it looks like they're moving closer to a game economy aimed at milking the whales.

I got concerned when I first saw the chests/containers/whatever show up as I've seen this system used in other games. Beforehand, your regular player and your Whale spent about the same on acquiring something but these let you milk the Whales more. Regular players might take a punt on a few, but your Whales will keep buying and buying until they get their desired reward. End result, more revenue.

Enrichment is overpriced to such an absurd degree that all your regular players won't touch it, but for the Whales it's nice to have this feature available, cost is not a problem.

And now, even with all the credits and spare parts under the sun, it will take a whopping 24 days to fully unlock all the equipment on a tank. Most regular players at most will gold some slots on just a few tanks, but your Whales will gold the whole thing no problem.

WG are raising the ceiling on how much they can earn from their Whales, but this trend can really hurt the game for the rest of us. I really got into this game and did my best to convert friends from other games onto it as well, using the egalitarian game economy as a major selling point. It looks like that's going away.
