I have both tanks in my garage, and I was a little shocked to see that the AMX CDC got what looks to be a buff to ROF, while the FCM 50 t didn't. I always thought the FCM was underpowered, so I think it's pretty crazy that the CDC got one. The CDC is super fast while the FCM isn't, and both have no armor to speak of. Way to go WG

Fcm is still better b/c armor and hp is STILL better than the CDC and the gun is totally acceptable for what it it. It makes pretty good income and can ram stuff which is always fun and adds value to the tank. Atm fcm is still better. 

 

Imo though they should give the CDC enough buffs to make it worthwhile and then buff the 50ts armor so it can t least be a heavium and then they can reclassify it as a heavy. Then we get premium French med and heavy.

If they give the FCM more armor to actually shrug off some shots off the front, I think it would be a much more competitive tank, and I would move away from using my IS-6. Honestly though, I don't think the difference in armor between the FCM and CDC is very significant at tier 8 right now. Tier 8 and 7 tanks' shells are like a hot knife cutting through French butter armor.

True, but at least the fcms turret and sometimes the front if you angle it right can bounce, which is more than the CDC can say...

The CDC got the most redundant buff this last update. What it needed was some extra traverse but instead, they tacked onto the already good gun and threw in some pity hp like that would make a difference. Classic WG. As for the FCM's armour, I can see your point. That thing is like butter to anyone with two brain cells. Both tanks need some love.

 

That said, I'd ask you not to perpetuate the idea that playing the CDC is anything but a gamble, lest WG do what it does and get the wrong impression. They're good at that kind of thing.

I have both. I like the CDC better but I would say the FCM is the better tank. I only like the play style of the CDC. As far as the buff goes, it needed HP which it received. BUT it also needed 8-10 degrees of traverse. Which it did not get. The gun was fine but I'm not complaining about that buff. It needs all the help it can get right now.

I love the FCM 50 T, Take it from the person who is ranked number 4 on WoTbStars in it

 

It has identical reload to the T26E4 post Super Pershing buff however it still has better Penetration and gun handling in general. The FCM 50 T is basically a Tiger 1 in tier 8 given it has good Penetration, amazing mobility, a good pool of HP, and half decent armor that can be good in capable hands. 

 

As for the CDC, I don't have it and even if I wanted a chance to get it I would have had no guarantee of getting it in the Lost division event.

CDC is actually playable now with the recent buff's

 

I never played the FCM since before the buffs - it seems a much more capable tank than it was before.

The FCM won't get derped with an HE round for 1k by any 150mm+ guns like the CDC.  The front plate can bounce tier 7 meds/lights with a little angling.  If spare parts didn't exist I would buy the FCM immediately.

The thing with the fcm is that its armor was designed for premium matchmaking on pc where it would routinely see tier 6s and 7s, therefore its armor would be quite good. However thats not the case with blitz and its stuck in tier 8, which is why it was originally reclassified as a medium. With the cdc in the game now it seems redundant to have two tier 8 french premium mediums and would make more sense to buff the fcms armor to a competitive state and make it a heavy again. That is if they arent already planning to bring the m4 49 into blitz, which I see nothing wrong with.

The FCM is a great tank. Mobile, with excellent traverse, great gun and good troll armor
