Here's what she did in my FIRST battle. Ignore the first place mastery, because it's a new tank, but this thing is awesome. Just short of 2000 damage with the standard gun (which has better penetration than the upgrade) excellent ROF. The real star of this tank though is the sweep and depression of the gun. It's like depression of a Cromwell B and you can practically shoot around the corner with the wide sweep. I didn't play this match from the bushes either. I played cautious front-line and was the 6th to die on my team. That depression and sweep is a real asset in survivability. :honoring:

The three previous tanks are meh, and I was only working my way to the ARL...but this was a surprise for sure. Let me know what you guys think of the S35 CA. I'd like to hear your opinions.

I got a first class with my first battle too. Upgraded the suspension, but I'm not too worried about getting the top gun, The stock gun is pretty satisfying. The gun depression and gun arc can really catch enemies by surprise, and the penetration and accuracy are just fantastic. Throw in an excellent RoF and I'm pretty happy even if the Bathtub doesn't have the infamous 105mm.

Yeah, I was going to upgrade the gun right away but then saw the lower ROF and lower penetration so I stayed. Definitely not disappointed in that decision. It's great being able to penetrate the front of KV-1's and T1 Heavies without having to use APCR. I upgraded suspension as well. Speed is decent too, way better than the SAU. I will actually enjoy running this one on the way to the ARL. And it's definitely a tank that will stay in my garage! I sold the first French TD as soon as I upgraded and I think that SAU will get the boot too.

The S35 CA is a shadow of what it is on WoT PC. On PC, it was my most played tank, I believe, and it has a 105mm with 160 AP penetration

This is true. I remember how glorious the Bathtub used to be with the 105. One-shorting Tier IVs... it was great. I'm not sure why the gun doesn't exist in Blitz.

The first three French TDs are god awful. I'm not sure I'm even going to go back and try to Ace them. They're just so abysmally horrible. However, the Bathtub was well worth it, even if it doesn't have the godlike 105mm gun.

I don't know about god-awful but they are pretty useless in such small map confines. And it doesn't help that the masses are all going front line in what is effectively a child's electric car with a gun on top.

either that or you have 6 tanks on your team lined up at the reworked bushes on Fort Despair.

I got as far as the SAu40 before the teams started going south. I'm saving free XP for later in the grind though.

I can't even imagine how great this is with a 105mm!

The more I play this tank, the more I'm in love with it. Just more great matches on my lunch with this thing. One match we were down 4-1 and I (and what came down to my last team mate) cleaned up the reds. We were at Castilla and I'm talking a quick accurate shot between two buildings for a kill, a lead shot at a tank I was tracking coming out from behind a building for a kill, traversing around after killing another and covering my other team mate. I'm starting to sound like a fan-boy but this thing is almost as good as a tank with a turret. Accurate, quick, making shots were I'm abusing the far sweep and depression at the same time to hit a target? Wow.

Okay, I'll chill out now. Yep, bathtub definitely worth it! I'm afraid now I may be let down when I get to the ARL, but I'll keep my hopes up. Either way I have a Tier V killer that is not leaving my garage ever! :justwait:

I kept the tier three, may try to work with it more, but the tier two and the SAU (I call it the sow, as in cow) are gone. Both are way too slow for my taste. Bad mobility = sitting duck.

I actually have a screen shot on my phone of I and five other Tier II TD's sitting in that exact spot. Hilarious! Glad I'm done with that thing!

I also got a 1st class the first time I played it, but after a dozen matches or so the tank has been a bit of a disappointment as it's too team dependent.  Given the quality of the teams at tier 5, having a team dependent tank can be frustrating.  The Stug III G is a better TD at tier 5, IMO.

IMO that's what made the TOG II and Angry Conner playable.  1900 dmg a game and being called a camper the whole time.
