Gotcha - thanks. Time to get my Cruiser IV to 100% then. :)

I was confused because I have the same light tank skill they used in the picture at level III - so that made it look like I somehow got level IV. I suspect the same skill icon and example is used every time and it just happened to line up for me.

I heard that if you unlocked a skill it will work for any type of tanks ,is that true ? Ex : If i unlocked ''Rage'' on the medium skills will it have an effect on the TD or heavies ?

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.

I've read that a number of times. Would also like to know the definitive answer.

So from what I understand once a crew skill reaches Mastery (lvl 5) then that perk is used by ALL tanks in the game, not just the ones in that particular line? I knew I should have dumped every medium XP I had into Mentor! Well at least I have it at level 4 so I guess I'll be using my mediums a lot more and taking the P M10 out for some 2x exercises! :blinky:

That's one point that I'm still waiting for clarification on.  There have been some mod posts that implied that any skill at Level 1 or higher (not maxed at Lvl 5) would apply to all tanks with 100% Crew Mastery.

It won't save anything until all are distributed (so you have no more exclamation marks at the beginning of the row per class of tank.) Apparently it's a bug since it resets if you leave before all crew XP is spent.

It's not a bug that it resets if you leave before XP is spent, that's working as designed far as I can tell.  The bug is for people who have too much Crew XP to distribute among any tank type.  But Alo8 posted in another thread that a fix for that should be implemented Friday morning.

Thanks for taking the time to post this guide. It really made the crew skills feature understandable.

Testing by myself and another member of Triarii seems to have confirmed this fact.

Evidence: We have Mentor Level IV, which is a Medium Crew Skill, and provides a 4% boost to Crew XP earned in battle.  We both noted that when playing LIGHT tanks with 100% Crew Mastery, we received this Crew XP boost on the Light skills we're currently training.  This appears to be incontrovertible proof that ALL skills begin to apply to ALL tanks with 100% Crew Mastery once they are Level 1 or higher, not only when they are maxed at Level 5.

I'm wondering why my heavy tank skills cost 1.6M yet all others range from 115K - 150K. Anyone else seeing this?

Skills cost different amounts at different levels, but they don't differ in cost between tank types. Heavy skills cost the same as Medium skills cost the same as Light skills, etc.  Look at the first post in this thread, at the bottom, I list the cost of skills from Level 1-5.

I was reading the green number as what it cost, not what I had available.  All good now. Thanks.

That's awesome to find out! Based on that it sounds like the better option is to get every crew skill leveled up to II or III to get the most bang for the buck, then work on Masteries. Going from IV to V looks to be a long hard slog.

Yep, thats what I did, started out by just getting Level I in everything, then put more point into the skills that seemed to be the most useful.

Also really WarGameing? You promise us a more detailed crew skills video in the 1.5 patch vid, and then sticky a community made guide....

I just received word from WG that my initial assumption about all skills Level 1 or higher being active in all tanks with 100% Crew Mastery was correct.  Updated the initial post with this information.
