I have both the IS and IS2---I've been looking, and it seems aside from legendary camo, they are the same tank. Is there any advantages of one over the other?

One has better armor. While the IS has two front-on weakspots, the IS really only has one (the lower plate). Compate the two models on tanks.gg, and you'll see what I mean.

Other than that, I'm clueless m8.

The IS2 and the IS actually have pretty similar characteristics, the guns are pretty much the same. I don't have the IS2 but I have the IS. With all the equipment on it it is really good, and they are both a proper Russian heaivum.

With the IS2 it has only two plates, upper and lower. The upper plate is pretty much solid. The lower plate is super weak, which is the same case on the IS. The only other weak spot on the IS is the driver's hatch, which is pretty small. If you angle the IS you can get super troll bounces all the time, but hulldown or sidescrape both of them and you can get solid bounces 100% of the time.

Besides that, both of them are the same, with a huge tumor on top of the turret that is an obvious weak spot, the same gun stats, same side and rear armor pretty much. But then, ig the IS2 is a premium so why not make it stronger? Courtesy of money for wg. :p

Another thing to consider is that the IS earns credits at 109% vs IS2 at 150%.  It's not unusual for me to earn 40K+ credits in a game.  I know I've hit 90k+ multiple times.

Beside difference in armour, keep in mind that you can mount different guns in IS. 100mm is quite popular and has a number of advantages over 122mm (RoF/DPM/Gun depression). I am not saying it is better, but you have a choice.

I totally skipped the 100m route-- I just swapped to it and I like it quite a bit better.. I don't use HE much anyway-- ty!!
