HI forumers! 

 

^^^^^^ Just like the title says. Is the M6A2E1 worth it? Good for credits, stats, etc? For those of you who have it- does it hold up well (armor and penetration wise) against tier 8? How's it mobility?

Armor seems OP at first then you see your turret sides are easily pennable. Speed is mediocre. penetration is no good, 198mm at tier 8 will have you struggling to pen IS tanks.

It plays a lot like the other American heavys, except that it has decent hull armor too, at least on the front. Turret armor is great, gun isn't bad. Gun depression is pretty good. Play it hull down if you can. That being said, avoid Tier 7 like the plague until the stupid missile tanks are gone. Overall, I think it is one of the better Tier 7 premiums, definitely a fun tank.

So the general consensus, is "Yes?" So should I buy it? What prompted me to buy this tank was some videos I watched of it on YouTube,  as well as me checking WOTBSTARS, looking at the average stats for it, and thinking, "Huh! Might be a good tank to stat padd in!" So- buy, or not? My main goal is stats ( and fun)- i dont need credits currently, as I have 13 million+ at present.

TWO GAME, NO EQUIPMENT REVIEW:

 

Armor:

Hull armor seems really good, turret armor's decent.

Side armor is complete and utter garbage and can be overmatched by 150+ mm guns.

VERY very extremely tall, make of that what you will.

 

Mobility:

Hull traverse is average for a heavy.

Turret traverse is very high for a heavy.

Acceleration is pretty snappy for the weight, too.

Top speed is slow.

 

Gun:

Imagine a T29 gun, but minus a hundred or so DPM.

Pretty accurate for mid-range, don't snipe tho.

Threw a lot of shots too, but I was playing the gun a bit extreme, just testing its limits.

-10 degrees gun depression make it very versatile to use, too.

Huh. Damage wise, seems very inconsistent. I appreciate your help mate. Did you find the penetration and gun handling to fare well?

In the third game, I was starting to get into a rhythm there. I added it to the album as well if you'd like to check it out. The pen was just fine for that game, and I believe it's enough to get through most tier 8's without much prammo.

Mate- your help has been invaluable. I checked all your images. Thanks for all the effort- during matched where you were up tiered into tier 8, did you find your armor held up well?

The tank is a monster in terms of armor, basically a kv1 of tier 7. Most tier 7s won't be able to pen your front, never mind tier 6, who have pretty much no chance. As a result, you can be more aggressive in it, especially with lower tiers that can't pen. The gun is pretty solid, giving you decent penetration at tier 7, and some real alpha at 310 (no 75mm pea cannon here!).

plus you get op gun depression. I personally love the mutant, as it does have weak sides, but if you keep the enemy in front of you it is a barrel of laughs

Just bought this. Fun tank. Only have 15 games in it. Tier vii and viii are pure trash right now. At least one afk in my last three games. Otherwise, I’m having fun trying to find hull-down spots and bounce everything.
