Keeping in mind, lack of evidence, has never disproven anything either.

Right - so there is no real debate to have on the topic because

  • WG has said there is no rigging of MM
  • WG has said tanks are balanced based on how players generally do with them compare to other tanks in the tier
  • There is no data from the player side to deny WG's statements

Tanks:  _X: T110E5, T110E3, FV215b(183), IS-7, Obj.140  _IX: M103, T-54  _VIII: IS-6, T34, Lowe, T-44, IS-6, IS-3D  _VII: T-43, Comet, E25, AT-15A, SU-122-44
Usually on in the evenings Pacific time.  Intake Contact for Triarii Clan (PM for details)

There's nothing from WG or any evidence to show that there's bell curve action going on WG.  The evidence is all anecdotal.

WG had implemented changes that I would argue impacted good players far more than the 40% players.  These include:

1.  Removal of binos.

2.  Removal of the ability to equip both optics and camo.

3.  Nerfing of medium tanks.

4.  Nerfing of premium ammo.

5.  Equipment changes in general

I'm sure I could find a bunch more changes that likely impacted good players more than 40% players.  I would say that you can overlap these changes with the motive of player retention and call this 'evidence'.  Either way, it doesn't matter and I don't care.  My point is that folks who believe WG is compressing the bell shouldn't be labeled tinfoil hat wearers and heretics.

1.  Removal of binos.  RT: I agree completely - devs said this made tanks OP.  Oddly, the feature still exists in WoT PC, meh

2.  Removal of the ability to equip both optics and camo.  RT: now you're gonna make me cry, lol

3.  Nerfing of medium tanks.  RT: I think this was more to make MTs fulfill their role, and not be front-line brawlers.  I don't see this as a nerf to good players

4.  Nerfing of premium ammo.  RT: probably helps 40%ers survive longer while unis bounce shots before and after the nerf anyway XD

5.  Equipment changes in general

WG's main player retention problem is created by the built-in complexity of the game (which was part of the attraction for me).  Noobs get frustrated and quit.  If these changes help noobs do better in tanks, I'm all for it.  I want as many tankers to stay as possible.  So if that's what we're talking about here, I approve.  Unis aren't being nerfed by these changes so much as the noobs are getting a little help.

See how we're simply debating the points and neither of us accused the other of 'wearing tinfoil hats.'  Debate is more productive when you don't try to shut it down with accusations of craziness.

There's a lot of crazy talk about the game being rigged - and your initial post in this thread smacked of that.  But your points made since then definitely point to actions WG is taking to help lower the bar a bit for new players :)

Speaking of which, JFK to 9/11 Everything is a Rich Man's Trick is chock full of fun theories about history being manipulated at rather large scales.  Funny how Hollywood even tipped its hand to the rich rigging WW2 in movies from the 1950s and 60s.  Just watched it on YT a while ago.
