I JUST FINISHED A TIER 6/7 SUPREMECY MATCH. VALLEY TO THE RIGHT, CITY TO THE LEFT. GREEN GOES VALLEY WHICH MADE THE MOST SENSE GIVEN THE TEAM MAKEUP. 6 OF 7 REDS ARE SPOTTED AT VALLEY. ONE TD STILL NOT ACCOUNTED FOR. MY TEAM TUNNELED ONTO THE LTTB TOON WHILE THE REST OF RED SLAUGHTERED US. I TURNED TAIL TO GET THE CAP IN THE CITY. WHILE THERE, I FOUND THE MISSING RED TD AND QUICKLY KILLED IT. CAPPED THE BASE (ONLY BASE TO BE CAPPED BY EITHER TEAM). THEN WENT BACK TO THE REDS TO KILL OF THE 1 SHOT LIGHTS & MEDIUMS. WELL RED TEAM WAS COMPETENT AND STAYED TOGETHER. I WAS QUICKLY KILLED AND THE ROUND ENDED IN A SOMEWHAT EMBARRASSING LOSS. HERE IS AN AFTER BATTLE CONVERSATION WITH ONE OF MY NOT SO HAPPY TO BE ALIVE GREEN TEAM MEMBERS. ANY THOUGHTS ON WHO WOULD BE RIGHT IN THIS GIVEN SCENARIO?

My thoughts are sometimes sh&t happens.  Next time someone messages you calling you a coward - ignore and block.  Move on to the next battle.

I like how you deliberately did not fully cover one's name in the team results.

No way it is the person you had a chat with.

Gratz, you managed to kill an AFK tank destroyer by leaving your team to melt (I wonder why they melted, not like their top tier left), and did more damage than a bottom tier turretless tank destroyer. The damage you did that actually matters is about 470 points, or three shots worth.

You do realize meds (especially top tier) are supposed to CROSS the river, right? Otherwise your team, hey get this, gets melted from the crossfire.

Not only that, you deliberately come to the forums with the intent to name and shame them, and so you don't bother to fully cover their name.

Did I mention that the capslock use is childish and quite annoying?

You are in the wrong.

In more ways than just one.

But ya ... it's YOU

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

"Meds are supposed to cross the river"?

I rarely ever cross the river as a med driver and have had quite a bit of success at blasting reds who DO cross the river, and then end up with an eventual victory. I would say that there may be a "general consensus" about where you should go, but I think it's wrong to say that your "supposed" to pick a specific route on any given map.

This is my opinion, and some (maybe most) will disagree that tankers should be free to pick their own lines without having someone bark down their chat feed with "YOU"RE SUPPOSED TO DO IT THIS WAY".

To those people I say: "I'll see you on the other side of the river."

Alright, what happens when a team decides to go, say, right from the south spawn, but doesn't cross the river?

And let's say the reds cross the river.

The reds now have two hulldown positions and a crossfire.

Good luck winning that one without a competent courthouse short flank, especially with that team make up.

I've had situations where it's best to go and start capping bases. Those are pretty unique situations though. You have to be sure your team is protected and can hold off reds in your absence.

Personally, I'd probably only do it if in a low tier, very fast tank like my lttb in a tier 8 match or my vk28.01 in a tier 7 match.

Otherwise, staying to fight is more productive.

No good can come out of having something in a toaster while playing WOTB - either the food ends up burned or you have to go afk at some critical juncture.

Oh and, THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT.

I'm just curious about your tactics to counter a good player with free reign across the river as your team stays to the inside.  Most games I've played where green chose not to cross and red dominated the far side were... difficult.  A hull down med there attracts a lot of missed or non-penetrating shots that don't go toward the front.

Marc, nowhere in the all caps story do you mention the burning food. Were you in fact afk for a little bit? If so, that's another faux pas, mon chef....

Hey Bobbo, I'll consider myself lucky since I've never had a problem with the reds meds. They've always given me plenty of opportunity to blast them off the map. 95% of the time, I find it easy to pick them off from our side of the map.

You do you man, but you've heard it from two better players that the "cross the river" strat is the way to go. You can choose to try it our way, or you could choose to continue doing it your way.
