Some things that I've been thinking about that may, or may not, point to a decline in revenue from Blitz.

1.  Tanks that were sold last year at ~25$ are being sold this year at a much lower price (13?)   (A way to increase revenue?)

2.  The dedicated staff for the NA server have 'moved on' to different positions.  We're now being 'taken care of' by the same crew that runs the Russian forums etc.  (Cost cutting measure)

3.  The change in economy from credits to Spare Parts - no need for premium time, or credit printing premium tanks.  (Unwelcome side-effect of the new equipment system?)

4.  Recent balance changes seem to be catering to the newer or lesser skilled players  (need to slow down player churn)

5.   "Special deal" pop-ups, such as 75k Free Exp for .. whatever price it was - Wise/Veteran players know this is a very expensive way to get free exp - noobs dont.

6.  Buy this in the next 24 hrs pop-up (A way to increase revenue - with the pressure of the deal expiring?)

What might I have missed?

Boris

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

Hard to say.  I don't see anything on SensorTower that's unusual:

Perhaps people are much more patient with timers than WG expected? I know I've never paid for one.

Premium tanks don't seem to be needed so much as they used to be, nor premium time, considering they are dishing both out like candy. Why buy when you can just wait on a crate that will sooner or later throw you a Löwe? The Premium certificates I'm sure were implemented as bait, but they just aren't valuable enough to your average player. I've been grinding tanks free since 3.8, and most of the time I don't even bother using my certs. I've never run out of credits since 3.8.

Purchasing spare parts for credits seems like it would do the trick, just make them crazy expensive. Keep the trickle coming from missions and crates, but place SP like prammo, with a gold/credit toggle in the equipment section. I'd burn through credits pretty quick.... and start playing my premiums more.....and maybe even use up my premium vouchers to the point where I'd have to buy premium again..........or not, because I know WG hates me.

I've been wondering the same since 3.8. Now I think what WG is calling "collaborating" with other companies is more along the lines of leasing thier platform and all of us to other companies. Cynical I know.

cats look down on you,

pigs look you in the eye

and treat you as equal.

What is weird is they have several tier 8 premiums(bulldog,wz111,cheiftan95,t-44-100) in the game that they could sell... but they have been holding off on it.

Boris, looks like you may have left out the premium ammo nerf.

I used to use it all the time wether I needed it or not.

Now, with it doing less damage, I rarely use it in turn almost always make credits.

Not as large an impact compared to your line items but still relevant.

Blitz has no presence on gaming or historical events, whereas WG as a company, and WoTpc and WOWS do.

i think this shows expenses are tightly controlled.

I don't think it makes less money, but I would guess it doesn't make enough. Not as in : they lose money. More as in they don't make money in a way that makes the game sustainable long term.

and yeah, the constant change of the economy inside the app shows that they are trying hard.

some of the new things they have tried just this year :

new currencies

timers

premiumization

one time offers

Events with grind for reduction price instead of grind for free tank

gambling events

only these would be a lot, and I might miss quite a few more.

Maybe, but wrt your 4/5/6 I think they don't suggest so.

#4 - that's been running commentary since they turned off friendly fire.  I'm with Bushka on this one - I think they are simply trying to make the game more fun, and ignoring spare parts I think the Great Medium NerfTM, prammo nerf, and the like are actually good steps forward.  And those new French lights sure aren't "new friendly" ... you need to have some skill to be competitive at all.

#5 and #6 have been around for a long time - I bought my T-25 at least 2 years ago on a pop-up.

So I wouldn't read anything into those three.

So.....when they start selling sparse parts for gold....will that be the end or will we be so grateful that the money poors  in again? Making us want it?

Edited by boris55555, 14 September 2017 - 12:49 AM.

. The count is still 0 and 1. I'm dirty: I've given them $40, shame me I’m a 3.h8 failure.

It's the mobile industry, easy way to milk money out of people. Part of the reason most of early players joined was because 1) it was world of tanks, 2) was because it was simple, you could buy gold, or a tank

Now there's so many different things to spend on and being the mobile industry people spend tons on phone games if the prices are relatively low, they're likely to rebuy something again. It feels like they realized this after alo8ight left, or maybe alo8ight being in the position he was in was passionate enough to keep it different from every mobile app/what blitz is now

3 Years of happiness is what blitz brought to me

Not from me.... But I said this would probably happen after 3.hate came out.

Just a matter of time. The developer's are just waiting for everyone to  forget there major theft. And things to cool down

But this is the next logical conclusion.

I don't think someone can get this data faked, but on the other hand I have no idea how ST gets their data in the first place...

Sometimes a company will do crazy things to make themselves look better.

The company that makes the just mayo line of products had their employees going to stores last year to buy crazy amounts of product to make their sales look better.

Doubt this data is being manipulated by wargaming though.   Seriously doubt they even know that data point exists.
