what kind of logic is this?  Either the tank moves or not. I can see turning might not be smooth if different crew drives, but top speed suffers due to dead/injured driver?  Just like engine failure?

please dont make this game over complicated just because you could.

Now you ask this? Lol

the tank is slower because technically it is now driven by the co driver who is also the radio operator and bow gunner. The poor guy gets overworked so give him a break!

Slower tank since most tanks of this period would have a co-driver/radio operator/ hull machine gunner and if the driver ever got killed then they could replace them but not has well has the normal driver. But doesn't explain tanks that only have one drivers.

Look at it this way.  You're in the heat of battle and a shell penetrates and kills your driver.  You now have 160 - 250 lbs sitting in the drivers seat as your crew frantically tries to work around what's left of your driver to reach the gas peddle, the brake, and the steering mechanism.   You think that would be easy?  You think that wouldn't slow you down a hair?

Just say 'NO' to Vanity

Time to roast...

OK, so if this was real life, another person in the tank would have to take his spot, but usually people can't perform 2 tasks at once. Needless to say, things would be slower.

If you were in an eighteen wheeler and the driver passed out could you take his place and drive as efficiently...I doubt it.  Scraping your driver out of his seat and putting a lest qualified driver in his place naturally slows you down.  If the replacement was a better driver he would be driving.  No brainer.

Lol, your driver is only dead for a little while until he miraculously becomes healed. Just be sure you have a first aid kit handy to patch him up after a tank round penetrates your tank and takes his head off. (Ouch!)

No. The tank loses its ability to fry eggs quickly.

It makes more sense then when your tracks get destroyed and your crew gets out and fixes them in a few seconds in the middle of a battle.

Since this is obviously now a fantasy game I like to think of my tank crew as androids who are capable of self repair if they are given the proper materials. A first aid kit contains a catalyst that allows the Android to self repair.

It makes just as much sense as Dracula Tanks and Warhammer tanks from 40,000 years in the future.

I like to imagine that when I pop the first aid kit and the driver is resurrected, the rest of the tank crew tanks a second to ask him questions about the afterlife.  Is there life after death?  Did the muslims really get to bang a lot of virgiins?  Has Jesus beard turned white since he was last on earth?

A good heavy driver knows how to make shots bounce off their armor, how to use cover while fighting at the front, when to get out there and just take the shot to protect his team, to keep the reds attention focused so his team can flank, and to consistently do damage while all of that happens.

Yes, it usually means slower acceleration and slower traverse. Top speed/engine power is still the same, or at least I assume so.
