MM doesn’t balance teams upon the factor that is most pertinent, namely: track record of ability to win or carry a team.
Even though it is now better than it used to be (no weird teams like 6 TDs vs. lights and heavies) it is still messy since things like the T34 and Van Herpes are classified as TDs even though they aren’t.

MM doesn't consider winrate. If it did games would end up being much harder. I've noticed that if I have a lot of high winrate players on the same team they don't seem to actually do better, too many chiefs and not enough indians I guess. I find the best teams for me have myself, one unicum, and the rest at 50%.
I'm not a fan of matching the numbers of tank classes. I think I'd enjoy the variation you get when you have mismatched tanks.

Played 108 matches in a 24hr period with a massive variety of tanks T7-10. Straight up 50% WR. It did not matter if I played my best, 50% of the time I had the absolute dumbest trash that couldn't score over 500-1k dmg in T8-10 matches, or the players simply watched each other die w/o even attempting to use any map awareness, situational awareness or just camped as the cap points droned on for a loss. I would say maybe...maybe 20 matches were actually good fights win or loss and the rest were all smashing face rolls win or loss.
Check out the Blitzstar stats (for today only of course to see the madness) to see almost nothing but blue to purple W8 effort that still resulted in 50% overall, 0% with some select tanks after 4 tries per tank. This overall player base is so small and so lacking in skill that it's just disgusting. Why don't the devs merge this server with another like Europe since this server is just DEAD.
Every other match was the same people who sucked only a few matches before or the same clans with nothing but 40%er trash the just mashes their buttons like they are 5yr olds playing Candy Crush.

For instance.
Other team has Smasher, KV2, KV3, Type 62 Dragon, Jpanther, Arl V39 Pz IV S.
My team has Black Prince, SU 122-44, Pz. IV S, Tiger, T71, SU 100Y.
The other team has 3 sudden death Overpowered Tanks. Not sure what SU-122-44 is but it sounds like a gold version of an already OP close to sudden death tank. T 62 Dragon, way overpowered gold tank. JPanth, strong tank. ARL V39, not sure what it is exactly.
Each team has pz. IV. S. and SU-122-44.
We have black prince, OP, yes, but no where near the caliber of OP of the Russian tanks or the gold version of russian tanks.
We have SU-100Y. OP, yes, but also not the caliber of Russian tanks or gold versions of russian tanks. It is offensively powerful, but not real hard to kill from a distance (we were in a very small map)
I'm using Sentinel, the most normal tech treeish gold tank I have seen. (mere mortal)
T71. T71 is capable of taking an isolated sudden death tank down. How could we possibly isolate one? They have non-stop sudden death firepower.
Tiger 1. Strong, but how can it compete with the other team's firepower?
I think there are so many unbalanced tanks because the balancers simply don't know what they are doing. They want tanks to be equal at the finish line, not the starting line. Whatever the most threatening tank is, is probably going to get most of the enemy attention (or avoidance). Players, in this way adapt to inbalance and skew the finish line results. Also, the team balancing often puts 2 or 3 or even 4 of each op tank. I.e. I have seen battles with almost all heavies with many of them being KV-OP. So half of players playing KV-OP lose. They appear the same at the finish line despite having 2x the firepower and 5x less shooting of most of the tanks they are playing against.
Because of these OP sudden death machines, battles rapidly get unbalanced. KV-2 vs KV-2, only one of them gets that first shot in that destroys or cripples the other. Once close to death, any player in their right mind would take a risk to finish it off so they don't have teammates dropping like flies all battle.
If they fix the unbalanced tanks, they should fix the one sided battles too. If they only acknowledged how OP some tanks are, and set up teams accordingly, they would probably fix a lot of the one sided battles.

Oh and I also didn't mention that 2 tanks on my team were paper tanks for this battle. My armor for sentinal might be pretty good vs some things but is worthless here. T71 armor is worthless pretty much anywhere. T71 has speed which is like armor in a way, but not in this battle because the other team could just sit and wait for us to pop up around a corner to be derped.

It just take time to learn the game. I’m still learning, but I think I’m playing at my highest level in many of my tanks.

You seem to be missing a tank on your team -- but if either your Tiger I or BP players were any good you should win.

What a good match making! My tier 9 beat all the teir 10 (5 players). Many says dont blame others you must improve yourself to contribute well on the battle! But NO! I rather choose a single 1 vs 1 battle if many will reason out that I need to improve myself. Hello?! This is a TEAM battle not a single battle, what is the purpose of the note before the battle: IF YOUR THE TOP PLAYER YOU MUST LEAD YOUR TEAM. this is nonsense at all if all team will didn't do their Job as a given duty for them according to their tier. So I suggest to ensure this trouble in match making to be solve. WR must be balanced according to tier. Like this game that I had. TEAM BATTLE: TIER 10=5X TIER 9=2X
NOTICE THAT MY TEAM ONLY GET ONE TIER 10 with 54.04% WR and the rest is below 50% WR While tier 9 players have 52.92% and I as 56% SO OUR MEMBERS WITH 50% WR TOTAL ARE: THREE! WHILE OUR ENEMY GETS MUCH WR. their tier 10 gets ONE 63.20% WR and THREE 50%+ WR. take note that most of their tier 10 had this WR and the REST is below - 50%WR which is only tier 9. They have a total of ONE 60%+, THREE 50%+ a total of FOUR MVP's player in tier 10! How can this become FAIR? IF you will tell me again to improve my self then I'll tell you to teach me how to OVERPOWERED MY TIER 9 VEHICLE THAN CAN DO THE DUTY/ABILITY/PERFORMANCE OF TIER A 10 VEHICLE AND TO FILL THE LACKINGS OF THOSE TIER 10.
MY SAYING IS GOOD TANK ISN'T GOOD TO A BAD DRIVER.

Did anyone watch the end of Bushka’s live-stream last night, Sunday, May 5?
he was a bit incredulous with his teammates and at the end attempted to play the Keni Otsu. While waiting in que, he regaled the story of the Keni sale. After several minutes and attempts with no battle, he muttered “I wouldn’t be surprised if WG gave Keni special MM now...” (to keep it from being played). Maybe a bit of frustration at the night, being tired, or whatever, but Bushka noted he thought some special MM was something WG could capable of.
call it tinfoil hat if you want, but even WG contributers can ponder a “rigged” MM
the que was low on tier 3 tanks, and I’m sure Bushka has a high battle count...
