I just played a game where there was 5 enemy heavys, and we had just 1, me and it was a Tiger (P) with only 91% crew. 1 med, and the rest lights. That MM was way off. Yes the lights are fast, but they go boom when a KV-2 one shots them, and they had 2 KV-2. I have had the MM in my favor as well too.

the mm doesn’t take tank type into consideration when putting a game together. Works fine. Next time you might be on the team with 5 heavies.

Sometimes I do blame mm but most of the time I blame myself for not having anti-flying tank shells and for not playing hard bass

Since we have so many amateur psychologists here, let me ask another interesting question:

Why so many good players feel deeply threatened when they realize that MM might actually be rigged?

If MM is actually rigged, I’m not threatened by that.  As long as it’s rigged the same way for everyone.

I just got high team dmg as one of two bottom tier players in a tank I really dont even like (grinding a line) for a pathetic, steamroll loss. What is lost on this thread is that MM is a bi product of the actual team makeup. As Ive said before,  I think that MM is too random, too simple and not sophisticated enough. Too many low skilled players pitted against unicoms or other semi gud players that make for massive steamrolls no matter how skilled you are. And anyone here who hasnt had those games must be playing on another server.  That is my beef with MM. What fun is it to enter a battle with 5 or 6 fresh recruits against three unicom platoons? Boy, that should be a real nail biter..   Its a total waste of time.

Wait for a X5 event around 4th of July or New Years. Apply 300% boosters. Spank that [edited]furiously with every high tier you've got. When you earn 2-3k free xp in a single game, you'll weep with joy.

I only use it for tier 9.  Never anything lower.  I'm too cheap to use real money to convert from free XP and those tier 9's eat XP.

Ditto, except that i get lazy and free exp vital modules on select tanks such as a turret to access unlocked guns or a top gun that will help greatly in effective DPM. It always helps to plan ahead and save for a tier 9 grind, however.

In regards to the free exp grind discussion, if you take a purple free exp booster, pair it with premium certificates, and play it on a b-day tank, you can rake in about 1-1.5k free exp on a decent to good win for anything tier 5 and up. I save the blues for 3x exp days while the standard grey have long since run out for my regular 2x games. It's tedious, but does show results on the long run if you do it right, even if you're playing a low battle count and irregularly like I am.

For every game where the MM tortures me, I have a game where I can't get to the targets fast enough because my teammates are descimating them.  You tend to notice the MM torture more...

I agree with some of your points (surprisingly).  The MM could be made a little better to balance out the win rates between the teams.  However, that only removes the extreme steamrolls where the outcome is determined before the fight starts.  And those go both directions.

I'm no fan of a 'skills based' MM where you only play players with similar stats.  That would be game killing IMO.

It's more of a deep annoyance, as I've been dealing with MM tinfoil hatters for just over half a decade.

One reason people complain so much is that there are so many 7-0, 6-1 games.  Steamrolls like that aren't fun, even for the winning side.

I'm saving my free exp. Have about 175k so far. Saving it for either tier 9 or 10.

It's REALLY hard not to spend it. I just bought the Panther the other day and the stock gun is below atrocious. I want to spend the 20k for the top gun sooooo bad. Ugh.

Regarding MM, it could use some help yes. For the most part I don't complain but then there's the games where the Reds have a total number of battles around 150k and the Greens have like 20k.

It all sounds well and good but wG has never said the MM is random, and it demonstrably is not random.

We know for a fact that some tanks are getting honeymoon matchmaking .....

Well okay .... while that guy is getting honeymoon MM ... how does that affect my landing on his great team, or my horrible team ....

Someone want to clear that one up ....

yus... MM is not broken, it's the player base that needs to be fixed; alas, its impossible.

1) Battle Count doesn’t equal skill

2) Everyone likes to ignore the wins when they remember MM ‘discrepancies’

There's a lot of steamroll complaints recently.  No question.  However, are there statistically more steamrolls?  I would expect an increase in steamrolls in +/-1 than in +/-2 MM.  However, I don't buy into the 'playerbase is worse' thinking.

I dont mind steamrolls when I'm on the winning side.  I don't like the lower game damage but win rate is my primary stat of concern.

I don't think the player base is the issue with MM.  I don't believe the player base today is any worse than it was in 2014.  I remember blue trolls driving around all the time.  It was so bad, they had to remove FF.

The player base is a constant in my mind.  It's not the skills that are changing... it's the game (new tanks, +/-1 MM, crew skills, equipment, provisions, boosters, maps, etc).  E5 and T-62A used to be king of Tier 10.  Not anymore... and it wasn't player skills that changed that... it was game changes.
