Just to prove what an old pack rat I truly am I was looking for some stuff in my garage when I came across some of my ollllllllld comic books. Including some of the ones with the Haunted Tank (look it up ya young whippersnappers!) and it reminded me how much I love the M3A1. Heck, I must have built the model kit 5-6 times.
So I took it out for a spin this morning and it was exactly as I remembered in Blitz. Nice little tank with a complete piece of crap gun. Its intraclip rate of fire is ok-ish at 0.67. But the other numbers (rounds per clip, dmg per shot, on the move dispersion, etc) are awful. The only reason I was able to out duel a Pz. II G that jumped me was that he ran into the red line and got stuck for a moment broadside on to me with his gun facing the wrong way. But I took so much damage the very next hit I took finished me.
This poor little bugger needs some love. I’ve already got GLD and Improved Assembly on it and really don’t want to put any other spares into it.
What’s the secret to this tank? It can’t out shoot anything. The armor is only fairly effective against lower tiers. But what’s its key? There are too many other tanks out there that outperform it in every way. And yet I still really want to make it work.
