So...I'm looking for a new tablet since my Shield K1 has died and since Nvidia doesnt sell replacement parts, there's no way to fix it without buying a new one. Im not going to buy a new K1 if I cant replace the fragile [edited] screen whenever it cracks on the slightest fall. I've been looking around and seen this.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MATMXZV/ref=psdcmw_1232597011_t3_B00ACVI202?th=1&psc=1

Has anyone ever used this kind of device before? On paper, it seems to be 2x better than the K1. And much cheaper than Sony's Xperia Z series tablets which ranges between $400-$800. Or is there a better device? Any suggestions and tips on what I'm looking for. I'd like to have enough disk space and ram to not be slowed down.

Never used that tablet, but it seems to be really good for a fair price. Plus ASUS is a reliable company, so unless you find a better deal, I'd say go for it.

i have K1 over 2 years now Mate, looks almost like brand new, but its not a case.

Here You have full stats of this Asus tab:

https://m.gsmarena.com/asus_zenpad_3s_10_z500m-8218.php

all seems to be nice but this Mediatek chip.. for me its really “exotic” one, so i simply cant tell You how efficent it will be. if You will have some free time compare how it works with newest ones like Mali, Adreno etc. Score on benchmarks and stuff like this.

Im not some Apple fan boy but if we talk about Blitz, i bet on Apple. Best optimisation ever, when You using Android, optimisation is still little stinky. personally im using iphone 7 plus and Blitz works rock solid on it.

Cheers Mate o7 :medal:

Get an Android, not only will the battery last but you will also have Play Store and other Google based apps that can be accessed when you need.

stats are a big deal in the forums if you haven’t picked  up on that yet (others will remind you).  If you want to move up in stats rank, for whatever reason; use a desktop, not a Pad.

With your desktop; a keyboard key press such as “fire” will cause a hardware level interrupt to the processor that will execute a simple interrupt service routine that will fire your gun. Since your Pad pixel screen pixel space have no (screen) hardware interrupt capability, the game Program  has much more work to do in order to sense (poll) that your finger is on a space that accepts inputs, determine what kind of function (“fire” you want that space related to and to finally fire the gun.  If you haven’t discovered it yet, you will eventually discover that on ocassion, pressing the fire “space” on your Pad doesn’t fire the gun. You. may also discover that on ocassion, the direction rose on your Pad game space doesn’t direct the tank the way your finger press directs the tank to go. Same deal as above. The desktop computer should have none of these issues.  If a desktop keyboard key tap fails to cause the processor to execute an interrupt service routine, have your keyboard cleaned.

There are obviously work arounds if your pad accepts and you choose to use a KB or Mouse. And if the processor accepts those inputs as ISRs,

Use your mouse...to fire and zoom and auto target...it's the only way to have a advantage...

Steam player here...also I use my Android Moto Z-2 play..all on max settings... 2g of ram...nice size screen...works great...

yeah.  At the competitive level that’s what you should do.  We all play for those rare opportunities against an experienced opponent in which skill and timing are critically important. It’s a bummer when the game system lets us down.

It looks pretty good, although by todays standards the battery life is a bit low. It's not uncommon to have devices that will run close to 20 hours on the phone now.

Asus makes great stuff, the one caveat being that their customer service went way downhill in the last 2 or 3 years.

IE Asus' hardware is still among the best, but if you do have to RMA something they are not so great to deal with anymore.

If it has a phone...

When buying a device, make sure the phone in compatible with the type of service in your area and keep in mind all companies in the US are switching to 4G LTE.
