For me, definitely Samwise Gamgee. Pretty underrated imo. He's literally the perfect character. Brave, loyal and courageous till the end, Frodo wouldn't have destroyed the ring without him. He wasn't powerful like Legolas or a wizard like Gandalf, but that just makes it more impressive when he fought the giant spider and defeated her single-handedly or carried Frodo to Mount Doom. I literally had goosebumps when he said, "BUT I CAN CARRY YOU!"

Who is yours? Discuss!

There's an old Etruscan saying, "you can lead a horse to water, and you can really freak out your enemies by leaving its severed head in their bed."

Gandalf (even though it’s a bit cliche). He’s powerful as all hell, arguably only a level below Sauron, yet he’s so chill. He could probably just take the ring for himself and become a god, but instead he helps these little hobbits travel all the way across the continent to destroy it.

I guess I don't quite fit within the timeframe of LOTR, but it's the same universe so I'll pick myself.

He killed one of my lesser brethren. The real lord of balrogs was destroyed a long time ago.
