I know.  Dan’s back complaining about maps again. :sceptic:

But I just can’t understand the use of Mines and top level tanks.  Russian Mediums go to the hill or the island. Gun depression Mediums go for the ridge and the hill. Heavies go to the ridge with the occasional maverick going toward the cap.  Though it’s the most eco friendly map as TDs will never, EVER, leave spawn saving many gallons of fuel.

I even prefer Himmelsdorf as you’ll occasionally see teams do something surprising and the damned TDs have to maneuver.

The point of the game is to win.  The purpose of the game is to have fun.  They are not mutually exclusive.

I can’t understand how everytime I try to do something useful for the team on mines I see an SU-152 facing towards me

the td spawn camping is  just stupid. Like giving people a spot to snipe from spawn that has full view of half of the map just makes it a super campfest game.

It doesn't matter what map is in the rotation, the campers will camp.  Although some might actually move off of spawn on a few of the maps.

Mines is one of my favorite maps you heathen.

Despite what you seem to believe, Mines is one of the more strategic maps, especially because the positions along the island open up a lot of possibilities for crossfire. Furthermore, it's nice to have something different from the bland 2-corridor gameplay that most Blitz maps offer

And whaddya mean you "even" prefer Himmelsdorf. Himmelsdorf is my favorite map in the game.

I dont know, I actually like Mines.

And games wouldn't be as predictable if the tank lineup wasn't always the same crap.

I played TDs before it was cool. It was also never cool to begin with.

Mines is a completely FUN map for the higher tiers. Not a huge amount of strategy, no, but duking it out on the hill is what I love about it.

Still not a fan of mines the campfest is too easy for tds. If I liked open maps I would prefer castilla or Canal which are much better. Atleast in those 2 maps when tds fire they get lit up and rekt and dont have soft bushes and hardcover right next to where they camp.

I'm on the fence about mines, it's a good map, but it feels campy at times.  Can anyone teach me how to play it in tiers VIII+?  That's where I tend to struggle.

1. Drive big TD

2. Stay in spawn

3. Kemp bush

4. Don't push until team is dead

5. Die

6. Blame

7. Report

8. Repeat

I would really like to see 5 or 6 new maps in Blitz. The last one reminds me too much of the Paris map from PC and I truly disliked that map. Blitz needs needs a fresh breath of life into it.

Depends on the tank.

Fast tanks with gun depression and/or turret armor should go to hill

Slower heavies and well armored TDs can go to the slope leading to the hill, or if there's not enough support, sit under the hill to bait enemies

Fast tanks without gun depression or armor can play around on the island to fire at the hill, and create crossfires

TDs without armor can camp at the back, or rotate to the island

You can rotate around as the situation necessitates though

Copperfield needs to be flattened by the hand of God/Hammer of Thor/poop of odin/feet of the hulk.

It is 100% stupid and I hate that map.

I also hate fort despair cause when you grind a new line 120% of your games in the first few tiers are on that map and it really... has nothing going for it.

I love kemping bush

Tried to read the thread, but my mind has a block that dismisses anything said after "Hey-hey, ho-ho" as likely moronic groupthink.... I'll try to power through and actually read it......

....OK... well, IMO it's no worse than Pearl or Himmelsdorf or Copperfield.  Most of the maps are claustrophobic.  That's Blitz.

Mines is one dimensional and optionless. Say you're in a medium, and the other team has more mediums. You can't take hill. Where do you go? Lighthouse? Yeah, and get sniped to bits by spawn tds when you get spotted. You could also flank around the hill, or better yet, close out of the game. Both are equally impactful towards winning. This happens to you in lightly armored heavies. Face it, mines is complete garbage in a TD infested meta.
