Depends on the tank.
Fast tanks with gun depression and/or turret armor should go to hill
Slower heavies and well armored TDs can go to the slope leading to the hill, or if there's not enough support, sit under the hill to bait enemies
Fast tanks without gun depression or armor can play around on the island to fire at the hill, and create crossfires
TDs without armor can camp at the back, or rotate to the island
You can rotate around as the situation necessitates though
Yep.
I like Mines.
If I'm in something fast I'll go the long way around and bait and harass the red TDs by blind firing into the bushes and/or intercept red lights trying to do the same.
If the red team is mostly under the lighthouse and/or on the hill, I'll keep going around and shoot them from behind etc.
If you take the hill, it's like a little fortress that you can switch sides on and drive around to targets of opportunity.
Mines is a map that is pretty equal for both teams at the start as well. Some maps like Canyon seem to give teams spawning at certain locations an advantage.
