Crap, sorry I'm late. I was searching for my tinfoil pickelhaube, but I was distracted by the furious clashes of keyboards. Luckily, a golf cart with some grammar gestapo officers offered me a ride to the forums.

I think that MM should be as follows under 50% win rate you would play 7vs7, 50% to 55% you would play 6vs7, 56% to 60% you would play 5vs7, 61% and above you would play 4vs7. This would be a real test of skill. Since players over 50% think they carry all the time this would prove their worth. Any thoughts. Would the higher WR PLAYERS put their money where their mouth is???

​One other thing, are there any parameters to setting teams at all? Any type of balancing to try to even out the amount of meds/heavies/TDs on each team? Is there anything affecting the MM other than "We need 14 players and there needs to be 7 players on each team and each team has the same amount of tier (insert number here) tanks"

There is only 1 undeniable truth (unless you were in the game designer team and know something probably neither people working at WOTB know):

mechanic of MM, algorithm, game design, WOTB goals related to WR etc etc.....is the same for ALL the players.

That is: skills count.

Period. Deal with it

 

Fortuity ? Luck ? does impact ? of course yes, as for any sport, game and life event.

Stop the MM drama. Deal with it

 

Could MM be improved in terms to be more balanced in terms of game fun ? of course yes.

but again, Stop the MM drama. it is the same for ALL the players. Deal with it

 

But please do not talk about statistics, psychology etc.....those are  serious stuff guys....to talk about that you need knowledge and more than that, data that only WOTB got available.

Then if you wanna talk about how a game can be designed that is another history.

Rosgrim, is there a point to your post?  I consistently see people bringing up that sort of point, but I rarely if ever hear any talk of the other side of that issue. All the supposed “tinfoils”, at least the ones who stay involved in serious discussion, agree with you. 

 

So so I have to ask what’s the point of bringing it up? Moral preening? Virtue signaling?

We adjusted MM to new ranked battles in order to make set-ups more equal in terms of tank classes or/and roles. It it works well enough adjustments for random battles MM are possible. We'll see.

Oh! RNGesus!? I like it ))))))

Don't mix RNG and MM. RNG is a part of game mechanics which determines damage and penetration values for every shot you make (in a certain range). RNGesus (love it) works in battle, MM works before.

Can you merge This Thread into the official matchmaking thread so that all of these answers are in one place?  You've put done some great answers and I'd hate for them to be lost or forgotten.

Good players take RNG and MM into account when they make decisions in game.  They take what the game gives them and more often then not win in the end.  Bad players on the other hand come to the forum and whine because they are unable to adjust their playstyle to deal with the hand they have been dealt.  Don't be a bad player.

Hi, I’m not trying to reply to you personally but sometimes I read this line in the forums.

 

If you had played and paid attention for as long as I have, you would ha noticed that the MM is continuously updated.

there was this occurrence where tanks on each side were almost all identical. It lasted for only a few days.

was it last year or 18 months ago ? and so on. It needs to be constantly adjusted, and it’s server side, it doesn’t need a client update.

then they matched failtoons. They also brought that rule about no more than 4 tanks in the same team last release. In fact I bet most of the small constant changes they don’t talk about. 

 

now if you mean “current MM sucks”, well we have heard that from day 1. So I think MM is here to “suck” for as long as player play the game. Who would ever be happy with MM when your could have one more player than the enemy and two tier11 ? 

 

Personally i don’t remember complaining about MM, but taking notice of long term and short term  fluctuation is interesting. When the game is hard, well. I like that the game is hard.

i see ribble replied. He also makes it clear that adjustments are constantly brought into the MM.

Hm... Did i say something new? 
I'll add a statement that MM doesn't consider previous battle experience and outcome. Anything else? If so, you can add it to FAQ quoting my replies from this thread.
