In case you haven't figured it out from all the posts above you already:
Yes, 3 player platoons would decrease the number of noobs on your team. But a 3 player platoon on red does the same thing. Having platoons of 3 amazing players on the red team (which is statistically slightly more likely than having it on your team because you take up a slot on your team) means that the odds of you winning that match are close to nil. Increased number of games where the outcome is almost predetermined brings players closer to the 48% average. Most players here on the forums would thus be dragged down statistically.
Furthermore, if you are not a super amazing player platooned with other super amazing players, since MM works by matching platoons against each other, you are more likely to run into a platoon of 3 or more very dangerous players. Believe it or not, you would likely lose more than the current set up.
From a gameplay standpoint, no one likes ROFLstomps. Good players want a challenging win; not one where they can just cruise through the enemy team in like a triple AMX 50 B platoon. 3 player platoons will increase the number of games that are practically predetermined; especially since good players tend to platoon with other good players, and bad players with other bad players. A platoon of 3 players with a 40% winrate ensures a losee about as much as a platoon of 3 good players. No one enjoys stomps; and the increased number of them would not be fun.
If you want to be able to pick your own team, play tournaments.

Hmm, possibly lift the cap on platoon size not necessarily just raise it to 3. I do wonder if the majority of players prefer to handicap the better players by chaining them to sub-40%ers. In any case, WG will do whatever they feel is best for the Russian server. Perhaps, allow larger platoon sizes and minimize the influence of matchmaking to a great degree?
Besides, tournaments are slow and don't affect win rate. The biggest gripe I read on the forums is losing and it's affects on stats. Well, biggest gripe other than boosters and spare parts and well that's enough...

As a pretty decent player myself; I couldn't care less about my teammates, or noobs for that matter. When noobs are on my team: "More damage for me!" , and when they're on the enemy team: "Easy win for me!" It's a win-win. The inverse is true for super-unicums. When they're on my team, they steal all my damage, and when they're on the red team, they make me lose.
Blaming "noob teams" for losses is a losing mindset. By and large, the players that die and complain of "noob teams" are usually not brilliant players themselves. Good players, or players working to improve themselves blame their own mistakes. My mindset is that there about 20-30% of games I'm going to lose no matter what I do because of skill disparity. But that means that there are things I can do to win the other 70-80% of my games. That means more often than not, if I lose, it's my fault; not my teams fault.
Platoons larger than 2 will mean that the percentage of games I will lose no matter what will increase from 20-30% to something like 30-40%, meaning my ability to influence my team's ability to win is greatly diminished.

WG could easily implement larger platoons if they wanted. Slower devices would have no issues running 3, 4, 5 or even 7 man platoons. Matchmaking is all handled on WG's servers. The primary load on player-side devices is just displaying the graphics. Players have asked for larger platoons before, but WG won't implement them for the reasons I already mentioned. As it stands, a 2 man platoon in Blitz (which comprises ~28% of a team) can already influence a battle more than the 3 man toons on PC (which comprises just 20% of a team). Any increase to that would break the game

You have seen people with 20.000 battles and 80% winrate in tier 8 and 9 and 70% in tier 10 ? I have.
do we need them to reach 90% ?
no thanks.

That as well.
receiving a platoon of 3x 42%er in my team... I’m so excited I can’t wait. Imagine the outrage in forums...
on the the other hand you have training rooms where you can platoon with 6 other like minded people.
how about going there ?

I hadn't thought of it from that angle. That would actually make things even worse.
In WoTPC the larger platoons work, because of the size of the teams.

As SpartacusDiablo once said: There are two extremes of platoons that we see a lot: unicum and 40%er toons. The last thing we need is one more of those people influencing the outcome of the game.
At this point, it is still possible to beat a unicum toon, or still win with a failtoon. 3 people platoons would break this.
I'm working to improve my winrate. Currently: 45% 46% 47% 48% 49% 50% 51%ish >>> 30 days is 60% ... Currently working to become a unicum, and all tips are appreciated!
