Call me dumb, call me crazy, but I enjoy the tank. Mobile for a heavy, typical German gun handling (fantastic) and a forward mounted turret that makes it good for peeking corners. A couple downsides of course, that forward mounted turret also means that side scraping is a bit more difficult and the armour itself is a bit thin. Other rhan that it's a pretty good tank imo.

agreed,is a unique play style tank,i think it had one of the best accelerations of the tier 8 heavies, and his gun is pretty good,i never used it as a  frontline brawler vs heavies, i used it as a heavy med to get the sides of things and brawling/sidescraping only vs meds

Which team? Yours or theirs? If yours is well, as LautyWX said, use it has a heavy med. If you get flanked, turn and face, or push around quickly flank them. If the enemy team is full of heavies and TDs, it's the same, flank if necessary, hang back, etc.

So main point, it's pretty much a heavy med so play it as such.

Also because of it's mobility, don't be afraid to ram the crap out of meds and lights.

I currently have the Maus, that being said I had to go through the VK 45.02 A.

Let me start off with anybody that says it is a good tank is a complete idiot and their opinion has 0 merits whatsoever.

This tank is slow, for a heavy you could say it is decently mobile, but it is not a heavy and for what it is. It currently has 0 armour whatsoever, therefore the 'decent' mobility it has for a heavy is negated because it has 0 armour it is moving around. To make the no armor factor even worse, it is huge, and the turret isn't even strong so going hull down isn't a thing in this tank. This tank is like a very large light tank, and I won't say medium because at least mediums usually have a strong upper front plate they can bounce with reliably.

This thing has a decent gun at max (the stock guns are basically torture) and that is about the only good thing I can say for it.

I put a solid 60k or more free XP into this tank, I have never done with this any other tank (however grinding the AT line right now is making me want to beat this record) and there is a reason for this.

I recently have been having a lot of fun in this tank. And found that it does actually bounce shots if positioned correctly, or maybe I'm just lucky.

gordonchau- The 45.02A gets a lot of hate, but I think it is usually just played wrong.  It is a versatile tank capable of playing the role of a heavy when absolutely needed, but really comes into its own when you use it to bully mediums.  I think it has a lot more in common with the E 50 than the VK45.02 B.

InnerRampage- You have a 27% survival rate in it, which leads me to believe you pushed to the front lines nearly every game expecting it to bounce shots like an IS-whatever.  It is not that kind of tank.

The tank that needs a buff is its slightly demented and delusional cousin, the VK 4502 B who wants to be a Maus but failed so hard.

I love the 45A.  If it gets buffed, great, but its by no means needed.

You let your team distract the reds while you're off to the side being a complete pain in the @ss.
