So guys/girls..i am going to try and do a jump.

my KV1 ( my only tier 5 tank. 132 battles 56% WR. avg. dmg. 697< not good enough ikr?) to the KV1s.

im trying to help my clan in tournament play. low tier 5 KV1 is just not enough tank for all the heavy tier 6 tanks we come up against.

i have already bought the tank (KV1s) i have free XPed it to the turret and the 85mm DT. (still have to grind engine, tracks, and the 122mm cannon.

i guess im asking for opinions and if i should really do this or wait. if the consensuses is a go, how is the best way to go about it?

i know this isn't a super intelligent  move on my part. i also know after the grinding the KV1s i will only be using this tank for tournaments. and they don't effect my stats?

more info: i have almost finished my last SP equip. timer slot ( V-STAB ) and also have crew skills at 75% . i have the credits for full consumables ,Load out , excreta .

i have the boosters for crew skills and crew xp. but not enough free xp bossters to do much with. thats why  the dreaded grind.

any help would be appreciated ...

If you’re going to use it for your clan tournaments you need to max it out. Start grinding using your boosters and get the cannon first the engine then tracks. Don’t worry about your stats so much and just grind.

It’s a good tank for the tier. You’ll do fine.

Step 1:  Gold the crew to 100%.

Step 2:  Gold the modules.

Step 3:  Use gold to complete timers so all equipment slots are full.

Step 4 (Optional):  If not enough equipment is available, use credits or gold to refresh missions or use gold to complete the next event steps that contain spare parts.

Step 5 (Optional):  If not enough credits are available to refresh the small daily crate, buy credits from the store.

Keep in mind the following as you play your new P2W tank:

-  It has very little armor.  Don’t play in the open, you will get penned by just about everything (With a gun, trees and bushes are harmless).

-  You hit hard for your tier.  You need to make your shots count.

-  you have a long aim time.  Learn to ‘pre-aim’ in cover and pull out slowly for the shot to reduce bloom.

-  You have a long reload.  Goes back to bullet one.  Don’t sit in the open... you need cover for your reloads.

-  The KV-1S plays differently than the KV-1 but similarly to the IS (which has a shorter reload).

-  You should play like a support TDS.  You’re not armored enough to bully, you can’t spot well, and your gun is not accurate enough to snipe long distance.

The 122mm gun is the KV-1S...it's the single feature that will make reds think twice about where you are. Good tips above- it's a Russian gun: slow to aim (and terrible at hip shot...let it aim), slow to reload, but when it connects, it's beautiful. In a tournie, you'll be better off than pub matches...in theory your team will be reliable enough to spot, run interference, etc.

Consider double stacking rations for the reload / gun handling boosts, at least in tournie play.

I personally wouldn't grind out a tank solely for a tournament. That said, the KV-1S is really fun to play anyway, so it's not like you're losing anything. It plays like a slow medium with a huge gun.

Go for it Noobie. Give it a try in pub play too and see how you do. 57% in KV-1 is decent enough. I found that a lot of my tier V to VI jumps led to identical if not better win rates.

yeah FM. i did. im a little disappointed in my game play with the KV1s right now. 45% WR 984 avg dmg, 11 games.

i have to get out of the tier 5 KV mind set. lol....i have to remember to play this tank like a 2 line support heavy. and push every now and then. the armor on this tank isn't a KV1 for sure.i angle and side scrape  also a bit of hull down. just like i do in my KV1, so i either have to use its speed and move from spot to spot. but the main problem is its ROF. i need to find a way to keep its gun in the game a little more.

Granted i have the tank at 87% crew skills. and the engine still needs upgraded. but thats no excuse for my terrible game play with the KV1s right now.

For me, the biggest thing with that tank is always having somewhere to hide when you're reloading. If you can get a shot in and then pull into cover for reload, then you should do well. Yes, this often means that you can't be right on the front line.

Sorry, just read this.  The KV-1S is a bully that needs to hide. Must be patient with the aim time, hide during reload, use its speed. If opportunity presents itself ram that lighter tank you just shot to finish him off. With a toonmate to help cover your reload, you can rip off long win streaks. Hit 4 shots and you are at 1600 damage.  Let it and aim some more.

Wait so you want to use a kvs1 for Tournaments?

It’s a great tank for pub battles, but for tournaments it’s just not a good choice.

Depending on the enemy team, you will be targeted for quick elimination due to your long reloads.
