I'm a lazy bugger, so I'm gonna make the answers come to me.

Are there any specific benefits to joining a clan?

It's a nice way to have platoon mates when you need one, discounts on provisions and tanks and there's the IS5 for 1500 gold.

I have 4 main reasons:

-You can take advantage of clan supply, which offers things such as discounts, camo, and the IS-5

-You can become friendly/make friends with a bunch of people with the same interest as you

- It is really easy to find a platoon mate

- It allows you to participate in tournaments and Clan Wars, which can be very important.

Clan supplies for credit discounts on lots of stuff, is5 tank for 1500 gold, garage slots for credits, more potential toon mates, etc.

The E-25, skill ceiling so high it's in the next tier (basically, it's OP when used to its max. potential)

Just another demo account, nothing to see here

Clan wars and tournaments give gold prizes, but if you're at that level as a person (where you can't find this stuff for yourself), I'm not so sure you'll be participating in those anytime soon.

Additionally, there is a 5% discount on all vehicle purchases (every tier you complete of personal access you then receive the discount). It comes in handy when you have to spend large chunks of credits on Tier X's and stuff. I recently enjoyed paying ~5700 credits instead of 6100 credits for my Leopard 1.

It looks like many of these reasons hinge on being a serious player, which I don't personally count myself.

Tooning? No. Paying 1500 gold for a tank? Yes. Being serious? Only by appointment.

"In this game you’re either a predator or you’re prey.

Prey doesn’t win at the same ratio as the predators because prey doesn’t have the same attitude. Unfortunately their are are not enough predators to keep the prey in check and  the prey is running rampant. Prey doesn’t care about WR, either directly or indirectly. Thats why they do what they want, that’s why the game has been dumbed down and  that’s why MH was brought about. Without a check it will continuously get worse until the predators are extinct" 4sfield

All of the being in a clan things mentioned are correct. I’ve been in two open clans. The first one I’m sure was abandoned. The second one I left because even though a lot of fertilizer was being spread I wasn’t growing. I left a clan with maxed clan supply and struck out on my own. Sure I’m not getting discounts to save a bit of silver but I’m still profitable. Platooning with clan members never helped my stats so it’s of little value to me. I’m sitting on a couple of tier 8 premium tanks I’ve never played so yet another tier 8 is of little value to me. I’ve never done a clan war but after not being able to muster 7 players online at the same time in a full clan of 50 both clan wars and tournaments became little value to me. What is of value to me is sanity. Im sure it all depends on what you are looking for in a clan what clan you happen to fall into. Best of luck in your search.
