Of course.  If we had a favorable medium matchup I would definitely be going to the hill side.

In encounter battles with a heavy advantage on green, I still like to go hill side because reds usually think all our heavies will go bunker side. They plan to flank through hill side and get behind us and then get smashed head on.

Of course, I've also been on teams with more meds and have the same thing happen to us...

I've had so many bad experiences going bunker in either game mode. I'm not sure what it is, but there is always at minimum one person who decides to go it alone in a different section of the map if the rest of the team decides to climb up to A.

If an IS tank fast cap B and stays hull down, it's a problematic for the team that goes C. A lot of players like poke out from the top of the hill by C, not realizing that the IS tank can spot them instantly.

When I used to play IS7 a lot, that was my go-to-move, and generally I would win as long as my team is semi-competent.

Only problem with this play style is that I didn't get to do much damage, and many battles end with both sides still having several tanks left by the end of the battle.

And honestly, that's a part of the reason I abandoned A & B route. I would rather shoot things and end the battle with one side completely wiped out. Occasionally, I get screwed over if the other team fast cap B, and I don't have the mobility and gun depression to reset, but for the most part, C side gets more consistent results (not Wins necessarily).

Here’s an alternate thought that I’ve seen play out well:

A and C.

Roughly split with the faster tanks and sniper types heading C. Fatties A.  It’s easy for 40%rs to understand because tanks are already pointed that way.

C takes if unopposed or heavily advantaged, or delays if disadvantaged  and withdraws to spot c for fire from A. Reds  have to expose themselves to fire from A  to attack the other half of the team.

Similarly, A takes if unopposed or advantaged,  or withdraws to B if disadvantaged. The stronger side covers the weaker regardless of outcome at either side.

Early capping B  seems to be as frustrating as the mines hill,  and thrice as motarded.

This strategy may work for you, but it assumes in general people can hold for a while when severely outnumbered, e.g 3v5. Forgive me if I’m not very optimistic about that...

Also if the C force run into full reds, there is no way to cover them from A when most of the fight will be behind the C hill.

If outnumbered at C, Don’t go behind the hill. Stay where A can cover you.

But yeah, in Pub matches it’s all a coin flip anyway.

Odds are 1/2 team will sit at spawn and wait for red to cap A, B, and C...

One of the spawn campers will be spewing hate at the team (generally the second one left)

One will spam SOS (usually when he is the last one left).

One is spinning its turret - or shooting a rock - he heard that you get spare parts from Rocks.

From C you cant spot A unless you have a teammate further forward and B cap u can spot but you need a tank with gun depression to hit them never mind the return fire you will get the moment you fire.  Also if you go C and reds send one or two to C as well it can tie you up allowing A & B caps to be capped quickly.  I would leave C until the match is engaged and a fast tank can flank in and cap

Either side is viable.  I kind of try to herd my team towards where the opponent will be because it makes things simpler.  When you end up on opposite sides you almost never know what your teammates will do.  Camp in a heavy tank, act like the first red they see is playing 1v7 and suicide charge, etc...

I know what my team will do -- I will say "Patience/Hold" they will split, yolo, camp or AFK.
