Don’t sit in spawn trying to get tanks to go town

Drive one way and shoot the other , seldom do I get caught going up hill in a slow tank.

Use speed boost !

The only problems I have is all other heavies go town and med. and lights are in to big a hurry to engage reds and die to quickly.

Spam ‘40%’ers to Town’

Odds are for encounter, any going town at start are not much use anyway.

I write "Up!! >>>>>" before the battle starts and try to also quickly write " meds wait for heavies" It doesn't always work, but at least I try...

I think some of the issue for thos who say some tanks are too slow for going hill is where they think they need to be. Going hill doesn’t mean getting to where the C cap is. Of course it takes forever to get there. You can however climb up and support that area without moving very far from the spawn. Using the ridge that goes up from the spawn, you can get shots into town without over exposing and keep moving up the ridge. You can peek a boom from the rocks and ruins into the C cap area. You don’t have to make it to the C cap to be effective. Your gun will shoot all the way across the map. If any of what I just said confuses you, jump into a training room and actually check out the map.

Secondly, going hill is an absolute waste of time if you don’t hold the hill. Want the team that went town to win easily? Just rush down into town one at a time and get melted. Too many people chase the first red that pops on the map. To start the round you fight for positions, not chase kills. Save that for the end of the round when you are cleaning up.

If the team has a slow tank that has spawned near the city, and the rest of the team is mediums and lights, shouldn't the fast tanks support the slow one near town? If the enemies push city then the slower tank will be killed by them going up the hill from spawn. So the slow tank will either die going to the hill or die in the city, that's why I think sometimes it is reasonable to go town. Whenever my team has a t95 that spawns by the city, we always go city because we recognize that it would never make it up the hill. I usually win when supporting tanks in the town.

Then the slow tank needs to bust @$$ up hill. If their teammates are smart they'll get behind and push. Highground, especially in Middleburg is essential. Ya just make it work. Reality these days is, that no one gets that advantage. The majority of the time, I get my KV-2 and my Tankenstein up that hill.

Sadly a lot of the 40%'s don't believe in the hill because they are the one that quickly leave the hill to go back and fight in town if the red team is there.

I never seem to have any issues when someone decides to kick in and push. I never ask, but if they offer, all the better.

I’ve capped in town with Tortoise. We had one med go hill, and he stalled the enemy team. Then all the other 5 sat outside of town and distracted and prevented the enemy team from getting to me in time. Like many have said, if your team is a tiny bit intelligent, it’s possible to win town.

Possible but always go with the odds and hill has the best odds. (If the team follows that is )

99% of the people who drive a T95 are doing it because they're not the brightest bulb in the barrel.

The other 1% are masochists who don't want help going town anyway.

100% of the people who drive a T95 know they will be left behind because they know they are driving a T95.  If they didn't want to get left behind, their only option would be to platoon with another T95.

You have to play the odds. In your scenario, you're asking specific coordination between all 7 tanks to hold positions in multiple locations, while at the same time, assuming that the reds won't read your defenses and overwhelm the weakest part of it when in reality, it's difficult enough to get an entire team moving in the same direction from spawn. It's unrealistic.

Yes, we've all have games where we've held our noses and went town and won. Usually, I chalk that up to ineptness by the reds than skill by the greens. I can usually look back at the way the game flowed and from the reds perspective, see where they screwed up and lost.
