So I recently recruited a buddy to this game, a completely new player. Obviously I'm trying to teach him the game, but I'm having trouble. Despite being a good player myself, with 3K blitz battles and 5K+ PC battles on another account, I am struggling to convey the ideas of cover, sidescraping, hull downing, (nice term), and spotting mechanics, not to mention stuff like situational awareness and map reading skills.

I am trying to be patient of course. I remember my first 200 battles (on PC) were pretty much just like his, but any useful tips to help me help him would be appreciated. He has a great attitude and is ready to learn, but I feel inadequate as a teacher.

Also as far as tanks I know the D.W.2 is a good learner, kv1, M2 medium, and most other Russian tanks will work, any other must have tanks for a beginner? Don't really feel like he is ready to cope with the speed of a t46 or luchs yet....

TY

WoT blitz is better than WoT PC imho because no arty and +/- 1 mm.

Count the tanks in battle queue .Mediums and heavies. We got 2 spawns that teams get put in.See if you have more heavies or mediums on team. Also look at red team.Usually you can spot an advantage here.If red is full of heavies and green is balanced, have your team go with the mediums and vice-versa.Stay together. .....o7

You're flooding him.

Let him fail and get used to the controls and enjoy his ignorance for about 500 games, then when he knows the drive-n-shoot basics try to get him to do simple things like angle and sit behind cover on the reload. He gets that down, try to get him used to hiding the hull and going hulldown. Then, after a while, get him sidescraping.

Turn him onto some you tube videos.   These guys may have a better chance of helping and it is a great start for a beginner.
