So, as we know, the St. is short for Sturer, therefore the full name of the tank is the Sturer Emil. Well, I decided I wanted to know what Sturer means. I plugged it in to google translate, and as it turns out, Sturer means moping in English! So I guess we can now call the St. Emil the Moping Emil. To be honest, I’d be moping if my tanks were that bad too......

It is better translated as stubborn. Stubborn in the positive way like strong or does not back down.

[BRSKT] wants to put moist, succulent meat in your mouth.

So it's a "stronkemil"?

Looking into the eyes of an infant is like staring into the heart of a star... Pure. And blazing.

Also.. it's never a pleasant experience to bite into a SlimJim, and discover a toenail.

huhh.. there's another one..

It gets better, Emil means excellent (or really rival depending on if you go for a name or word).

So tank is "Stubborn Excellence" or "Stronk Opponent" Germans may not be know for their humor, but this name is a helluva joke.

Idk. I was sub 50% in this tank yesterday but I just went 26/34 with a bunch of 1st class and an ace. Humble brag. As we all know I’m an above average player marginally. This tank is twice as good as I once thought.

If you translate something it isn't always right. You need more context. Anyway, Stubborn Emil is stubborn.

IRL this tank would be a beast- all about det gun. I wouldn’t want to meet it in a dark alley....or a wide open field several kilometers out. Stubborn indeed

Did it ever get it’s ammo capacity increased??

I didn’t think it was bad - but ran out of ammo in it several times.

The tank was originally called the Stubborn Emil due to its fondness of breaking down due to poor transmission design and its 'stubbornness' in not working again even after being repaired. These problems originated presumably from the parent chassis of the St. Emil, the Henschel VK30.01 chassis.

I sense heresy.

3 shells x 460 average alpha is a lot in tier 7. It's enough to kill all but the fattest heavies in the tier.

It also lets you mix more HE (65 pen, 600 average alpha) ammo into your loadout.

"Two vehicles (named after Max and Moritz) were built, both of which served on the Eastern Front. One vehicle was destroyed, the other captured at Stalingrad in January 1943, with 31 kill marks painted on the barrel. This captured vehicle is now displayed in the collection on the Kubinka Tank Museum."

I called it st emil as in “saint Emil” simply because I had to pray so much while playing it (to no avail, alas).

funny enough just yesterday I watched this :
