I'm perplexed it was made into a TD. Well, I know the reason why it was made into a TD, all the nerfs hit the T30 hard back in the day, so WG decided to change it from a heavy to a TD, but WG should've kept as a heavy so we could've had 2 American T10 heavies and 2 American T9 heavies.

I found it an awful drive. Sluggish and huge. This, combined with the long reload made it a very easy tank for tunnelers to focus down. Also, the new autoaim kept making me miss easy shots in it which was ridiculous. 10/10 the e4 is a better tank, without a doubt.

Just get hulldown and bounce everything while paddling anyone stupid enough to show themselves in front of your 155mm gun.
Worked for me.
(Honestly idk why people say the T30 isn’t a good TD, it definitely has a unique playstyle, but it’s an excellent machine.)

(COD-R) 54.54% Winrate. Low tiers are trash, game is ruined. FML.

I like all the turreted American TDs as tanks*.
The slower turret traverse and wafer thin side armor can cause serious issues if you get rushed. But the gun handling and ridge fighting abilities are at least as good, if not better, than the equivalent tier Medium or Heavy tank.
And, other than on the Wolverine at V and T25/2 at VII, you get a much more powerful gun to help make the reds nervous.
*Except the T28 Prototype. I despise the T28 Prototype. I will continue to despise it until the side armor is doubled, the power to weight becomes viable and the top speed breaks 30km/h. As none of these things will ever happen it will remain my most hated American tank.

Ehhh the hulldown isn't that great. Still has major weakspots on the cheeks and top.

Wait until you get the normal T28. Take everything you said about the Proto, and then make the gun face only one way. I guarantee you you'll like the Proto a little more.

I completely skipped the T28. Even on paper it looked like such a depressing pile of poop that I just couldn’t bring myself to suffer through it.
I figured the T95 would be better as it has massive armor values even on the hull sides and a really big gun. Sadly WG has decided that I should only be allowed to play that tank on Mayan Temple, Pearl of Boredom and Rockfield. So that beastie is mothballed in my garage.
It’s why I said I really prefer using the turreted American TDs as tanks. Casemate TDs are meh as a design concept regardless of nation. A few are fun, but the rest are a hot mess.

I've not played the T30 in a while, still viable in today's meta?
Hulldown patient sniper / support tank seemed like it was the way to do it...
