Ok, so I recently got the T110E4 and I'm having some trouble with it. One of my main difficulties is with its gun depression. Let's be very clear, 6 degrees is awful, especially considering literally every other tank in the line has a full 10 degrees, and that the other tanks with 6 degrees at tier 10 include the best hull down tanks at tier 10, namely the IS-7, IS-4, and OBJ. 140. Because of it's lack of gun depression, it has a hard time playing like other tanks in the line such as the T28 Proto, or T30. Also to add insult to injury, WG has saw fit to give this thing a massive cupola that is impossible to hide, however, you will find that 9 times out of 10 people don't even bother shooting it, instead preferring to pramo your massive turret. However, it doesn't help my argument when I go and drop massive 500 alpha pramo bombs through the upper plate of an IS-4 and get 3k damage games. What do you guys think? Do you think it would be OP if it got the same 8 degrees of gun depression as its companion, the T110E3, does it need a rebalance, or is it ok as it is now?

 

Also, while I do want and appreciate advice on how to play it, there are things I DO and DON'T want to see. I DON'T want to see "play it as a support heavy" or some other thing you are parroting from another forum. I DO want to see SPECIFICITY "play it like_____because_____it plays to the strong points/negates the weaknesses of______...etc." Pictures are worth a thousand words, if you want to submit a good example please do, comparisons and contrasts and examples from specific maps also help.

It doesn't need anything.  Its slightly less mobile than an E5, so its still pretty quick.  Flank if needed.  Almost play it like a heavium with a long reload.

 

Only thing I'd like is if it would hit the advertised 640 average alpha more often.  Mine loves to roll for around 600 85% of the time.

Which isn't true. E4 has significantly worse traverse and reverse speeds than the e5, which are already lackluster. It has a bit of armor though. Not a heavium- heavy/TD hybrid still holds true.

I don't have the E4, but I do think it needs a buff because for a tank of its mobility, I see a disproportionately low number of bounces it generates. In a face-hug I don't see many E4 drivers effectively protecting their cupola, and at medium range its lower plate is an easy pen.

If you don't like the E4 then switch to the E3

Too bad, that's how you play it.  That's like asking for E100 advice and saying "Don't tell me its a front line heavy!"

I am polite as a rule, but if you want to be snarky, here you go. The advice should not be "Play the E100 as a front-line heavy." I put those last lines in for a reason, that is not SPECIFIC. Here is SPECIFIC: The E100 should be played in the front line BUT always hide the lower plate because it is very weak. If side-scraping isn't an option make sure to go hull down. The front of the turret is angled back at around a 50 degree angle, when using all 7 degrees of gun depression it goes up to 57 degrees which brings your effective armor to roughly 326 MM. While this is out of the range of any medium's pen, it is still within the range of the pramo of heavies and tank destroyers. Unless you are actively shooting and aiming, keep your turret angled to one side at about 20-30 degrees from centerline for maximum effectiveness. When sidescraping, be careful on your angle as the front drive wheel becomes pen-able at around 20 degrees. THAT is specific.

With your 30 kph top speed you're marginally slower than its heavy counterpart, the T110E5 with its 35 kph top speed.  The E4 has a turret that turns a total of 180* so you can play it similarly to the E5.  The armor is not great, but it still can hold its own against smaller guns, like the E5.  If you cannot frontally penetrate a target, you should use your 30 kph top speed and 180* turret traverse and flank, like the E5.  Just be careful because the gun has a 13 second reload and you may find yourself being charged at by mediums and high rate-of-fire heavies.  All in all, it should be played as a heavy-medium hybrid.

Actually, unlike with the E5 you have 375 APCR with 540 alpha which you can use all game and still come out with 3k damage. If you cant penetrate with AP, switch to APCR and practically autopen. Flanking with the e4 is not that practicable because with the abyssmal reverse speed (yes, and the reload), if 1 or more red mediums come charging at you its difficult to react.

I struggle in mind, but I think it is a support tank, 2nd line.

 

Try following your heavies and peak-a-boom.
