As with most turretless TDs (and now especially this line) position yourself where you can’t be easily flanked, as you’re either the one pumpin it out the front or getting pumped helplessly from the back. You can do this by either staying with teammates who can literally cover your back or if none are available by keeping a wall close. Having a wall close allows you to back up against it and deny anyone who tries to circle you, but will only really work if it’s one tank attacking you.
These tanks may have alot of armor, but they all come with a very big weakspot; the cupola. Something you can do to help mitigate this is hiding the side of the tank that has the cupola around a corner, while the other half and your gun peek around to damage enemies.
At tier 5, the AT-2 is essentially a T95 and AMAZING at playing the front line. But as you go up in tiers the armor, while still there, will be much less effective and you’ll have to progressively play a more supportive role as you climb. Eventually you’ll reach the 183, which is a complete support tank.

Step 1: Pick another line
Step 2: Abandon 183 line
We don't need another 183 in the game.

This - the tier 8 and 9 all have huge gun arcs so you don't have to turn a corner completely to get a shot off. Keep your tank angled like 20-30 degrees when you poke so you're angled yet you can still hit them.
Personally I golded the line from the AT-8 using $50 refunded gold so I havent tried this myself but it does work well.
Bring back the T49A

Essentially - it's using the front-mounted nature of most TD guns along with your maximum gun traverse to present the front of your TD at the greatest angle possible to your target. But yes - when you don't need to shoot you can back away and turn at an angle to get cover and while doing so provide a more and more extreme angle to the enemy.

By gold u mean to skip with free exp?

Yes. One line I remember was a short (less than 45k) of free exp and I believe it was tier 7.

My new(and i think improved) version of this excellent advice:
Tier 5 - agree
tier 6 - gold
tier 7 - gold
tier 8 - gold
tier 9 - gate
I'm sure 6/7/8 have only gotten worse with all the tier 7 heavy buffs and op tanks as I did the line some time ago.
IMO no tank in the game should go less than 25 kph as often you miss the battle altogether in tier 5-8. When you do show up it is 5 v 1 and gating isn't much use.
