I posted this a while back, after the initial mod ban wave, but I feel like now is a good time to reiterate as you have taken a more active approach to the forums.

WG makes a list of acceptable mods. These mods come are made by community members; the developers do not need to intervene. Community members are able to add mods to this official list, on one condition—that each mod is demonstrated and tested to WG employees, who will verify that it is a legal mod and not a cheat.

All players will then be able to access the official list of WG-approved mods, which is the only allowed source for mods; the installation of any mod that is not included in the list results in an immediate and permanent ban. This system allows for the modding community to exist without fear for players using cheats.

Thank you for listening.

...just like WOT PC?

Amen.

If you have less than 5000 battles, it is NOT COOL to have a tier 10. Having a Tier 10 does not make you good. If you think you're good, you probably aren't.

No mods - period.

Play the game as it is designed and accepted.

I think 5.5 was good for the game - But I also want my Kenny OP nerfed.
Sorry I haven’t aced the Smasher yet - So I’m still ruining tier 6-8

what do these mods do? I'm never gonna get one but why do people want them so badly?

"Blitz" can't exist within a world of TDs.

If that's the case, then it's a good thing they are banned. I think I recall one players saying they wanted a mod that had better sounds for engines or something. What a waste of time.

The problem is with mods is some folks make module hitskins or transparent buildings/bushes etc.

Modifications of the files is a slippperly slope that some will use for advantages.

I still the best method is for WG to hold contests for skins and sounds.

Reward players for winning items - and add to game for gold.

If WG would update the gun firing sounds, I wouldn't want mods to begin with. The 75mm's remind me of a golf course.

I can barely hear the game over my music so the sounds don't bother me.

Is that supposed to be an excuse for WG not to update the firing audio?

No it probably means focus on the game the sound doesn't matter.

"Blitz" can't exist within a world of TDs.

Even when I can hear the game, the sounds don't bother me.  I'd rather they spend more time on other things.

The sound mattered enough that WG updated the loading music.

Mods are generally used to change the aesthetic features of the game, such as tank skins and gun sounds. Most of the modding community (myself included) don't endorse mods that actually do provide an advantage of some kind, like module hitskins or X-Ray vision (which is now impossible to achieve without landing yourself an instant and irrevocable perma-ban).

There's a Discord community server that houses lots of different mods and modders. Go have a chat with them, maybe they can learn you a thing or two. :)
