Anyone drive the AMX 13 57?

I have yet to see an AMX 13 57 in game but I’ve seen a Lorraine several times.

Tier 10's: FV 183, T110E3, T110E4, T110E5, T57, M48, IS-4, IS-7, T-62a, Obj 140, Grille, BätChät

There is only one TD and 183 is her name.

I drive Joseph Stallon (IS) tanks for the win.

The Lorraine is solid and very comfortable to drive. It’s competitive.

The 13 57 on the other hand...hoooo boy is it a different story. Very fun in theory, but its gun has some serious dispersion on the move and pen issues. It may be able to fire once a second, but good luck dealing with all the after shot bloom. Realistically, I’m landing about 350 damage in a typical clip (including bounces, misses, weird RNG, and frequently not having enough time or safety to sit for 5 seconds to get the full 6 out). Still pretty effective, but definitely very new play style that takes some getting used to.

Lorraine is a great tank.

Reload is it’s massive weakness - so one needs to be careful when one pushes.

C6 highly recommended 10/10

13/57 it’s tier 7, but feels like tier 3 with the 6 shot cannon that lives to troll.

Fun tank and if unspotted can put out some serious damage - but it has depression and elevation issues reminiscent of the BC line that can limit positions.

 C6 medium recommended 6.5/10.

Note on grading scale

C6 gives FCM Pak40 a 0 and the T95E2 a 2

The 13/57 has 7 degrees of depression and 13 degrees of elevation which is much better than the 6 and 6 that the 13/75 has (wow I hadn’t remembered how painful that was, I must’ve repressed my memories of that grind)

Hey Cursader, just to help me  understand your grading scale...... What grade do you give the FCM 50t?  If Loriane is a 10 and 13/57 is a 6.5.

Thanks.

I’m interested to see what the credit coefficients are on these new French tanks.  On these two new ones and the M4A1 Rev I seem to be earning a lot better than most same tier premiums.  Might partially be because on the autoloaders I’m not spamming adrenaline all the time and ammo is cheap on the 57. But the Rev earns well too! Interesting

FCM was a 3 pre buff, now it’s a 5.

Oh rip me. I knew I should not have spent my money on Cyka Pershing and just save my money for the Lorraine instead. :'<

That fourth shot is screwing with people right now. Shoot 3 and slightly pull back and people assume that you are on a reload and move from cover. Oops! Nope, that was a kill shot.  You just died.

The reload is long but you get that 4th shot. Sometimes hard to pull off all four without taking at least one in return. Good damage at 900 per clip if you can pull off all 4 shots. I am liking it right now but just now really facing tier IX so we shall see how it does as bottom tier against the t54 and other well armored tier IXs.

Got my ace. I think I’ve gotten the hang of the Lorraine. It’s the sort of tank that should not be driven while frustrated or on tilt. Doubly so for the 13 57.

Currently Grinding: T54E1, M103, WZ-120, Foch, T95

Tech Tree Lines Completed: 22/27

Definitely.

It takes a lot of finesse to play well.

You can go from hero to zero in a second.

13 57 is a death by a thousand cuts sort of tank.  6 rds clip is great and reload is good that you can perma track folks and bail briefly for a reload.

13 57 is huge fun but I think it’s mostly because people don’t know what is coming at them.

once they know it it will be difficult. Lots of people will run the tanks over the next few days and the playerbase will know about it.  I have already been chased down by a ru and he managed to ram me for 520 damage. (He also lost 500 btw but that was not his main point I guess)

Then they will forget and it will be a much more lasting fun. Especially I think of aiming the amoracks, engine and gas tanks. 6 hits will blow a lot of them. The issue is 57mm doesn’t go far inside. I need to check carefully which tanks modules are within reach.

KVseries on fire every time that’s for sure.

That less than 24 hour period is a hoot. I destroyed a T49 who had no idea what the Lorraine was; he bounced HEAT off the front and I rammed and finished him in one clip. The only defense? WALLET WARRIOR  I've already been absolutely wrecked by more skilled T49 drivers in both Frenchies however, so clearly the 55%+ crowd catches on quickly. All part of the frustrating fun.
