Hello all,

Last night I was in a discussion with someone else about ping and its impact on your gameplay. This fellow claimed that his 80ms ping was the main reason that he could not be a unicum, because he couldn't angle his armor effectively due to "slight lag". I was pretty surprised by his claim because for me, 80 ping is great. I've never had any problems playing at that ping, including armor angling, and that's about as low as it goes for me. Typically, I average about 80-150ms ping when in-game. I can technically play at 200ms but it's not very comfortable, I most likely will be missing more shots than usual. For me, anything greater than 250ms for ping is unplayable.

So I'm curious, at which ping range are you comfortable playing, and what is your average ping? I live in California and my room doesn't have the best connection, which would explain my (higher than normal??) ping.

Thanks,

Maverick

I don’t think I could find an average, changes way to rapidly for my old eyes to keep up. Also it’s dependent on day of week and time of day. Weekdays during the daytime is by far the worse. Early evenings are better, later is better yet. Weekends are iffy but I’ve got better things to do on my weekends then try to play a game I’m not capable of playing.

I still find it interesting that no matter how uncontrollable this game gets I don’t have any issues with shipblitz during the same hours.

And that works for you, right? I don't have problems playing at that ping as well.

Right now -- hovers around 100.

Before they moved servers to Chicago - it was around 130-140.    I honestly don't think I could tell the difference.

Also - I've no idea if they (WG) are using any type of lag-compensation or not.

Edit:  I've played 50 or so games on the EU server at about 200 ping - and I can say there is a little lag then.

Peace-

Boris

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

50-65 from the Vancouver BC area.  Used to be 90-110 before the server moved.

It does seem a bit snappier now so making quick snapshots is a little easier.

Usually around 50. I have found that once ping goes above 150 is where I start to experience issues.

I play with 90/100 ping 99% of the time, for me the choppy framerate and delays usually come from having graphics set too high and I always lower em. The only other times it's because the connection is obviously shiting itself and my ping spikes to like 300/1000. I don't notice any big difference other than sniper mode can get choppy if you do 180s with it.

I play with 125-140 as I live in Austria and WG refuse to move my account to the EU server.

Packet loss is a frequent thing; probably 1/2 my games or more but only above 2% every 5 games or so.

I play with between 250-350 ping.  You just get used to it and adjust your shots for it.  Driving lights can be challenging at times

all the devices in my home are very strange. if the ping goes above 60, I will start lagging pretty bad. if over 90, my lag will be so bad that the tank is just jumping randomly and won't respond to controls. If my loss is anything over 0, my lag goes crazy.

Really weird, I see many other people who can still play fairly well at over 200 ping.

"Blitz" can't exist within a world of TDs.

Wow.  I had no idea.  I’ve known folks to have high ping, but I didn’t know it was common.

Mine is typically 22-35.  I notice issues if it is above 80.

Also, I did notice a difference when the server moved.  I’m not sure where it was before, but I was in the teens.  The small difference isn’t noticeable in game play though.
